Christ Central is a great place to bring your children

As a church we are so encouraged by the number of babies being born and children and families joining us. We prioritise family at Christ Central and we have mid-week and Sunday groups designed to support our children’s development and provide support and community to parents. We value children and everything they have to bring to the church, and want to provide a safe and fun environment for them to grow and develop their own personal relationship with Jesus.

Far from just watching your children, our motivated Crèche team facilitate free-play, snack time, crafts and baby praise each week.

Follow the Crèche helpers in when they leave during the worship, and take your children straight up to Crèche room and collect them from the same room once the service has finished. If the meeting over-runs the team will be aware and will keep your child entertained until you are ready.

For babies under one, there is a soft play area in the main hall. If you would like to use the crèche room, a parent will need to stay with any child under 1 years.

Our 3-5s group is designed to engage each child through imaginative play, exciting bible stories, crafts and songs of praise.

Our Kidswork (5-11) start the morning with a high energy worship time. We then introduce the theme of the morning with ‘teaching time’ and some ‘worship and creative prayer’. The morning is full of fun, music games and most importantly learning more about Jesus and how we can live a live with Him at the centre.

We are so privileged to have some great guys in the youth work and we are incredibly excited to see what Jesus has in store for the young people in the church. We want to see them grow in their relationship with God, go deeper in worship and learn to love the Bible and see its relevance for their lives. Our youth meet every week – heading out to their own activities at the end of the worship.

Christ Central Youth meet regularly for mid-week socials, and with churches across Portsmouth as part of High Tide. For more information, contact Olivia.

Our Under-18’s ministry teams receive annual Safeguarding training, and follow our Child and Vulnerable Adults Protection Policy and Procedure.

If you would like to know more about our different children’s groups, or would like to serve with our Under-18’s ministry, please get in touch with the office, speak to a member of the team, or ask at the Connect Desk after a Sunday Morning.
