What does Christmas mean to you? We don’t really know what the festive season will look like this year. It has been such an unusual and uncertain time with various lockdowns and restrictions. We can be sure that this year will be different – but this year we can consider what Christmas really means.

Singing Carols – A Festive Playlist

We love singing Carols. One of the highlights of our church calendar is a fun Christmas Carol Service, followed by mulled wine and mince pies. Due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to plan this kind of gathering this year. However, we can still enjoy some great traditional Carols – from the comfort of your own home. Why not make this your playlist for decorating the house, wrapping the presents, and your family nights in?

Why Christmas?

What’s so important about Christmas? Why should people still be celebrating the birth of a baby born 2,000 years ago? Why are so many people excited about Jesus? Why do we need him? Why did he come? Why did he die? Why should anyone bother to find out?

This booklet is a concise, easy-to-read study of the very real questions you may have about Jesus and why his birth, death and resurrection are central to the Christian faith.

Family Nativity

Nativity plays are a key part of many people’s Christmas – including ours at ChristCentral. This is because we love seeing our children get involved in telling the story each year. We can’t put on our normal retelling of the Nativity in the John Pounds Centre, with all the kids on stage – but we are working hard at making this Nativity Service a fun way to remember.

Join us on Sunday 20th December, 10:30am on YouTube for a family-friendly celebration of Christmas.

Christmas Hamper Appeal

As a church based in Portsea, we have a real heart to support and care for the community around us. For the past few years, we have been able to help some of the families in greatest need celebrate Christmas by providing them with a hamper filled with special festive treats. This year we provided hampers for 36 households and families – to help them enjoy the festive season.

Keeping in Touch

Our Meet and Greet Zoom calls are a great way to keep connected with the family while we are unable to meet. We will still have these Zoom calls over the holiday season, so you can catch up with each other.

Join us after our Sunday Service – 11:30am on Zoom.
